Jessica Sambrano
Master Level Intern in Counseling
Schedule Appointment
Jessica, an intern in mental health counseling at Grand Canyon University, has a strong dedication to her work. Her motivation began at the age of 16 when faced with various challenges like being a minority, living in poverty, being a first-generation college student, a teenage mother, and a mother of a child with disabilities. Without any mentors, she felt lost in life, grappling with her mental health and financial difficulties. Through her personal experiences, she realized that everyone faces obstacles but can overcome them with the right tools. This realization inspired her to pursue a career in counseling.
Jessica’s counseling work covers a wide range of areas, and she excels in fostering hopeful and supportive environments. She aims to assist marginalized groups and individuals dealing with personal challenges by employing a holistic and evidence-based approach. During her sessions, Jessica adopts a motivational and client-centered approach, believing that clients are the experts on themselves, and her role is to support them in flourishing.
***Jessica is clinically supervised by Danielle.
